About Lighthouse
We are earning the right to preach the gospel in the communities of the Dominican Republic by meeting the needs of people through education, building homes, first attention clinics, and purified water.
Lighthouse Projects started as a hope to demonstrate the gospel and meet the needs of people. Since 1992, we've grown to achieve these goals and extend our influence in the Dominican Republic. Today, at least 240 North American teams have joined the mission; 29 families have been housed; 3200 families have received clean water, and 75+ kids attend school each year through the sponsorship program.
Jesus' words in the Sermon on the Mount inspire our mission:
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
~ Matthew 5:16

Our Process
Establish
Our first step is choosing a community in need and building trust by serving their immediate needs, whether that be building a sidewalk, water purification system, or other service.
Grow
As Lighthouse establishes itself in a community, we begin to hire locals to run our services, providing jobs and creating self-sufficiency for the people.
Share
Once we build trust within a community, we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them by building a church, hosting events for children, and going house to house with the Good Word.
Expand
After impacting one community and enabling it to become self-sufficient, we focus on finding a new community in need and expand our outreach, repeating the decade-long process.
